    Analog Screen Test of Kontravoid —04.26 at Gazarte ground stage.
    Analog Screen Tests is a series of short, silent, black-and-white Hi8 and VHS video portraits. There is no script, no special requirements, and no need to “perform.” Simple, living portraits that capture the subject exactly as is — without acting, performance, or direction. The subject simply exists in front of the camera.
    The inspiration: Screen Tests were filmed in the 1960s by Warhol as silent, minimal portraits of people who visited The Factory. They revealed the subject’s presence through simplicity: a static frame, a calm moment, and raw authenticity. This project follows that spirit — using Hi8 and VHS instead of 16mm film — focusing on presence, atmosphere, and the quiet intensity of simply being seen.

    About Kontravoid:
    Kontravoid is the dark electronic solo project of Cameron Findlay, a Canadian musician and producer based in Los Angeles. Findlay launched Kontravoid in 2012, crafting a sound that blends EBM, darkwave, and industrial synth-pop.
